BECAUSE INSTANT INFORMATION IS NOT A PRIVILEGE.
IT’S A REQUIREMENT.
The world is changing. Today, everything is mobile, connected, interactive, immediate, and fluid. To gain an advantage requires innovative technology and services to be at the forefront of every mission, wherever you are
HP has provided technology to UK forces which allows NATO-compatible information sharing at the frontline — ensuring our soldiers, sailors and airmen can do their jobs. We also give them and their families the support they need by providing the systems to manage pay, pensions ad administration for over 900,000 serving and retired members of the UK Armed Forces.
Rather than talking to our clients about our technology, we talk to them about what it can do. We talk to them about military effects in instant-on world where our forces can’t be put on hold.
At HP, responsiveness is at the forefront of our service offering, allowing us to care for people and the way they serve. It is people who ultimately determine military effect and mission success.
HP, partnering with the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), has helped transform business administration processes within the Armed Forces. Our expertise and application of innovative technology has centralised personnel data into an easily accessible, flexible and configurable information system, resulting in more efficient, strategic decision-making.
By understanding the ethos behind service life, HP Enterprise Services adds value to every aspect of personnel management, handling data processes from recruitment, training and pay, through to expenses, leave and finally veteran pension schemes.
HP is a technology services provider that delivers critical elements to drive through a change in business climate – flexible technology, applied innovation, collaborative expertise and service excellence.
Providing supplies and equipment to the UK’s Armed Forces is the cornerstone of any operation, be it humanitarian, peacekeeping or military. The MOD requires that its systems and processes are evaluated and redesigned to deliver improved effectiveness and efficiencies. The MOD has partnered with HP to undertake a number of these major transformation projects.
HP is leading the ATLAS consortium to deliver the Defence Information Infrastructure (Future) DII(F) – a vital part of the MOD's initiative to improve intelligence gathering and exploitation.
It also enables cost management and efficiency by extending into the operational arena, interfacing with battlespace systems and improving shared information between headquarters, battlefield support and the front line. DII(F) allows greater interoperability between the MOD and its allies, allowing significantly more effective operational support than currently available.
At HP, we understand that better, faster and more informed decision-making is fundamental to gaining advantage when delivering military effects.
Working with the MOD for over three decades, HP has pioneered technology driven services and solutions that incorporate evolving requirements and translating this into effective, leading edge systems that reflect military doctrine and tactics.
HP’s air mission planning tool, AMPA, allows aircrew to rapidly plan highly complex missions, visualising all critical elements on an interactive 3D viewer before getting airborne. Planning simplified, decisions made faster, complexity turned into mission success.
We live in an information intensive world where new technologies arrive at ever increasing speed, allowing us to share information faster than ever before. These networks need to be thoroughly secure, continuous and have total traceability.
HP provides a wide range of expertise in integrating IT infrastructure to provide secure and effective security solutions.
We allow our customers to enhance their competitive edge, while delivering practical and robust measures of protection which are fundamental to the success of day-to-day military operations.
HP has provided secure applications, data centres and infrastructure to our government and commercial clients for more than 40 years, partnering with the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), UK Home Office and UK Law Enforcement. For these UK Government agencies, sophisticated and secure IT is a prerequisite of business.
Peace support and deployed operations rely increasingly on the ability of international coalitions to work together…and working together means communicating and sharing information accurately, quickly and securely.
Joint Forces and Alliance partners need to have the technology to maintain flexible interoperable communications between them for a more effective outcome to deliver stability and peace. HP provides solutions that enable clients to make more effective use of their communications, allowing them to respond to situations rapidly and effectively and work together as one.

HP Defence & Security has officially launched its sponsorship of Team Army, the not-for-profit organisation that raises funds for Army sports and service charities.
In a new strip bearing the HP logo, the Army football went into action March 16th against the RAF in a match that saw inter-service rivalry played out on the turf of Aldershot Town Football Club.
“Every day we provide support for the Armed Forces with technology and services that reach from the back-office to frontline operations so sponsoring Team Army is another great way to show our support, “ said Huw Owen, Managing Director of HP Defence & Security.
Mr Owen added, “As one the UK’s principal defence companies, we are proud of our partnership with Team Army as a demonstration of our commitment to the Armed Forces, whether they are on the battlefield or the sports field.”
The Army was held to a 1-1 draw by an RAF team that included former Manchester City player Lee Crooks who is now a gunner in the RAF Regiment. Post-match, the sportsmanship continued with a reception for both teams and officials where players received team caps, colours and trophies.
In the previous week, the Army was hosted by the Royal Navy at HMS Temeraire that saw the Army team take home the silverware for a 0-1 victory at this annual fixture.

The Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) and Management of Materiel in Transit (MMiT) let commanders know where and when vital supplies will arrive, giving stock visibility right up to the front.
HP has harmonised the UK's tri-service Command & Control systems into a Joint Operations Picture, giving enhanced situational awareness by laying data about weapon systems, enemy targets and more over military maps.
HP's Advanced Mission Planning Aid (AMPA) enhances the efficiency, speed and accuracy of planning for single or multi-aircraft missions. More than 300 AMPA systems are in service, on the Royal Air Force's Tornado, Typhoon, Hawk and rotary wing aircraft.
HP supplies the core technology to the UK Hydrographic Office for digital mapping and charting.
